Position Summary:
• Under the primary supervision of the Financial Aid Manager, the Financial Aid Advisor is responsible for the student centered customer service delivery of the Jones International University (JIU) financial aid programs. The Financial Aid Advisor (FAA) is responsible for timely and professionally responding to all incoming student financial aid calls and emails and placing required outbound calls and emails. The FAA will assist students with completing each milestone of JIU's Virtual Financial Aid Office and answer questions related to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the aid application process in general while working with a third party financial aid servicer to ensure all student aid is packaged in a timely manner.

Requirements:
• 1-3 years experience or knowledge of general financial aid processing, or customer/student service experience
• Minimum one year in a call center environment or student assistance
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Experience with personal computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel
• Experience with Campusvue and Federal Student Aid Support Systems a plus
• Evening and weekend work are required

• Use Microsoft Office standard programs daily
• Third Party Servicer Software
• Department of Education Applications

Training or Certifications Required or Provided:
• Must have a general knowledge of financial aid regulations and processes
• Completion of Federal Student Aid (FSA) Coach Training Module
• JIU Financial Aid Customer Service Center Training

Work Environment/Physical Activities:
• Office environment/Call Center environment
• Regular and consistent attendance required

Position/Task Statements:

1. This position will be responsible for the timely answering of all incoming financial aid calls and emails, placing outbound calls and emails as needed and assisting students with completing their application for financial aid.
2. The FAA will be responsible for corresponding with JIU's third party financial aid servicer (Global FAS) to ensure all student files are completed in an accurate and timely manner.
3. Will work as a team member to complete group reports and projects
4. Knowledge of financial aid programs and ability to problem solve and troubleshoot student financial aid questions
5. Ability to professionally provide internal and external exemplary customer service
6. Handle special projects as assigned
7. Will participate in various professional development training sessions
