Position Summary:
• Support the HR Manager in recruiting efforts for the Admissions Counselor role and other openings within Jones International University.

Formal Education Required and/or Equivalent Experience:
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field or work experience.
• 3 years professional HR recruiting experience

Materials & Equipment Used & Frequency:
• Microsoft Office Products: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint; Internet; Payroll/HRIS System

Work Environment/Physical Activities:
• Office environment
• Minimal Travel (1%)
• Regular and consistent attendance required

Task Statements:
1. Apply general recruiting principals to identify and source qualified candidates and counsel managers on position specific strategies.
2. Aggressively source, select, and close qualified candidates for professional and/or exempt, nonexempt and intern/temporary positions.
3. Drive and manage applicant flow.
4. Interviews prospective applicants, answers questions about the position and organization, and evaluates their qualifications.
5. Checks references of candidates and makes recommendations to hiring manager/supervisor as to whether or not candidate should be hired.
6. Follow-up with new hires during first 90 days of employment to determine level of satisfaction with position and takes corrective action if necessary.
7. Responsible for creating detailed job descriptions, posting open job opportunities, and initiating offer letters.
8. Conduct, summarize and report on exit interviews.
9. Other special projects as assigned.


Technical Statements:
• Proven ability to act as internal consultant.
• Proven project management skills and computer skills, as evidenced by previous experience.
• Proven staffing (exempt/nonexempt) experience for technical and non-technical positions.
• Strong working knowledge of wage/hour labor laws and employment law.
• Excellent written/oral communication and interpersonal skills enabling establishment of strong working relationships at all levels of the organization.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and facilitate resolution of complex employee/management issues.
• Demonstrated ability of maintaining objectivity and confidentiality.
• Ability to gather and analyze data and make recommendations as demonstrated by previous experience.
