Jones Intercable, Inc. was founded in 1969 by Glenn R. Jones and was engaged in the cable television business. Jones Intercable grew from owning an initial cable system of 100 homes in Colorado to having over 1.5 million customers covering 20 states, with affiliate operations in the U.S. and abroad. To fund the expansion of the business, Mr. Jones pioneered innovative financial applications that raised more than $1.2 billion from equity offerings and limited partnership programs. Driven by a service-oriented culture, recognized consistently by J.D. Powers and Associates, Jones Intercable became one of the ten largest cable companies in the world.
In April 1999, Jones Intercable was sold to Comcast Corporation.
