Date:
04/17/2006

Jones Radio Networks® (JRN) congratulates Clark Howard, a nominee for induction into the National Radio Hall of Fame (NRHOF) in Chicago. America's Consumer Champion, Howard is nominated in the Network or Syndicated Host - Active category.

"Our 2006 list of National Radio Hall of Fame nominees includes immensely talented personalities who have entertained and informed radio audiences from Boston to the Bay Area, as disc jockeys, talk show hosts, newscasters and play-by-play announcers," said NRHOF President Bruce DuMont.

"I gotta tell you that my reaction to the nomination to the National Radio Hall of Fame is shock," said Howard. "When I look at the list of prior winners, I am awed to be considered in that league. And although being nominated is fantastic, I would love to win induction into the Hall."

Ballots will be mailed in May to radio executives, broadcast historians and all NRHOF members. Anyone wishing to vote can join the National Radio Hall of Fame online ($15) at www.radiohof.org. The voting deadline is Aug. 1. Winners will be inducted during a national radio broadcast from Chicago's Renaissance Hotel on Nov. 4. America's only National Radio Hall of Fame, now undergoing major renovation in downtown Chicago, is scheduled to re-open in early 2007.

Clark Howard earned a master's degree, built a travel agency chain, sold it and retired by the age of 31. After appearing on a radio show about travel, he immediately discovered his true calling: to help others. He then started such civic programs as Atlanta Volunteer Action, The Big Buddy Program and Career Action and has built more than a dozen homes for Habitat for Humanity. Clark hosts weekly consumer segments for CNN's Daybreak and WSB-TV Atlanta and writes a weekly column for the Atlanta Journal Constitution. His consumer-friendly books are best-sellers and the useful advice he offers on The Clark Howard Show resonates with 3.5 million listeners weekly on more than 150 radio stations.

The Clark Howard Show is distributed nationally by Jones Radio Networks and can be heard each weekday from 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. ET. For more information, visit http://www.jonesradio.com/ and http://www.clarkhoward.com/.
