JRN's Lia Wins Second CMA National Broadcast Personality of the Year Award
Jones Radio Networks® (JRN®) would like to congratulate Lia on being named 2007 National Broadcast Personality of the Year by the Country Music Association (CMA). The 20+ year radio veteran won her first award in the category in 2005. Lia is also a two-time winner of the esteemed AWRT Gracie Allen Award®, capturing it back-to-back in 2003 and 2004.
Country artist Jason Aldean gave Lia the good news during a faux interview Monday. The Lia Show is currently giving away an autographed shirt worn by Aldean in the CD insert of his Relentless album. Aldean called Lia to supposedly plug the contest, but instead surprised her with the news that she had won the CMA National Broadcast Personality of the Year Award.
"I totally did not expect this. This is my twentieth year in radio - what a way to celebrate. I feel so honored," said Lia.
Award winners are chosen by industry members of the CMA. Recognized worldwide as "Country Music's Biggest Night," the CMA Awards represent the pinnacle of achievement in Country music. ABC will telecast the 41st Annual CMA Awards on Wed., Nov. 7 at 8:00 p.m. ET from the Sommet Center in Nashville.
